Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom (IGC) 1963 Dove Reissue in Natural is an all-solid-wood, square-shoulder acoustic-electric guitar developed in collaboration with the Gibson Custom Shop. This premium recreation honors Gibson's historic 1962 square-shoulder dreadnought heritage by combining high-end, era-correct tone woods with stage-ready modern electronics.
Body Wood: Solid figured maple back and sides paired with a thermally aged solid Sitka spruce top.
Bracing: Traditional scalloped X-bracing made from quarter-sawn solid spruce.
Neck & Fretboard: One-piece, thermally aged solid mahogany neck with a comfortable 1963 rounded profile; bound Indian rosewood fretboard featuring mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays.
Scale & Nut: 25.5-inch scale length with a genuine bone nut and compensated bone saddle.
Aesthetics: High-end historic details including multi-ply body binding, a classic mustache-style rosewood bridge with inlaid pearloid doves, an ornate engraved Dove pickguard, and a Gibson-style "Open Book" headstock.
Hardware & Tuners: Nickel-plated Kluson Waffleback tuning machines with metal keystone buttons.
Electronics: Discreet, soundhole-mounted L.R. Baggs Element Bronze VTC undersaddle piezo pickup system featuring onboard volume and tone controls.
Case: Ships in a custom Red Line-inspired hardshell case featuring Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics.
Thanks to its premium flame-maple construction and thermally aged top, the 1963 Dove Reissue yields a bright, highly articulate, and punchy voice with immediate acoustic projection. The quarter-sawn scalloped bracing delivers exceptional balance and slightly more low-end warmth than a traditional Hummingbird, making it versatile for both singer-songwriters and full-band acoustic tracking.
