Key 2006–2008 Upgrade Specifications

Fender introduced this mid-generation refresh to distinguish the Standard series from prior 1990s and early 2000s builds:

Upgraded Hardware: Features a vintage-style synchronized tremolo with a new high-mass bridge block. This significantly improved acoustic resonance, dynamic range, and overall sustain compared to older zinc blocks.

Body & Shielding: Built with an alder body finished in polyester, the electronic cavities were fully shielded from the factory to noticeably mitigate single-coil hum.

Neck Profile: A modern "C"-shaped maple neck with a 9.5-inch radius, standard cast/sealed tuners, and 21 medium jumbo frets—a notable step up from vintage-style small frets.

Electronics: Standard configurations come equipped with three ceramic single-coil pickups (SSS layout), controlled via a master volume, two tones, and an Oak Grigsby-style 5-way blade switch.

Cosmetics: Outfitted with a 3-ply parchment pickguard and matching control knobs."
